Second life: our recycling program

Gerflor has a long history of recycling its production waste in its factories, dating back to 50 years ago. In 2011, Gerflor launched the Second Life program in France, a free service that collects laying offcuts and “clean” end-of-life products, especially those that are glue-free and REACH compliant. The program can be customised to fit the needs and limitations of the installation company. It also allows for the collection of PVC products from other brands. In 2017, Gerflor partnered with PAPREC, a recycling leader, to establish a plant in France called Floor to Floor, which recovers laying offcuts and “clean” end-of-life products. The recycled materials from Floor to Floor are then sent to Gerflor production sites, where they are used to make new products. Floor to Floor aims to recycle 55,000 t/year by 2025.

Floor to Floor
Gerflor and Paprec have teamed up to create Floor to Floor. This joint venture collects and sorts installation and production waste and forwards it to the recycling center.

Integrated into the production line, this recycling center enables recycled materials to be incorporated into all the new products at the plant.
